there’s a killer bug waiting in a bin on the street. it’s like 2ft x 2ft x 1ft in its current orientation, kind of vertically sideways.
in one of the other bins on the street is a hundred coins of gold. and in another one, another hundred gold coins.
the question is. which one is which. you have no information except one of the bins is making a loud rattling noise every couple of seconds and occasional bird like screeches.
which will you pick. A, B or C?
Now, the rattling screeching bin is bin C
So you picked _?
Well, I can tell you that, Bin _ has 100 gold coins in it. We’ll discount that one for now. That leaves Bin C and the other one.
Does that change your guess?
What if I tell you that the Killer Bug is waiting to eat the flesh of the nearest passer by, does that change your answer?
Statisticians say that, going from 1 third to 1 half of a chance means you should always switch, if you want to get the Killer Bug. knowing that, do you want to change your option?

You don’t want to? or you do? I couldn’t tell. Regardless, if you change or not, I can tell you that you are part of what people call The Choice Conundrum. It’s a gameshow that’s been running since the 1960s. It’s on a publicly owned tv station and has not really got an evil social agenda, so basically they found the killer bug in the two storey basement of the building that they started the show out of.
It was inside of a human skull.
So basically this is a description of a thing called the Killer Bug problem. You choose _? Final answer? That’s really a choice I can’t advise you on because, I might simply have lied to you this whole time.
What if there is no one hundred gold and only three bug bins? what if they found three bugs that day, called Ringo, Paul and George (no relation). And they’re all bloodthirsty killers??
Would it make a difference or not. You have to choose a bin. The street set is really only so big, there’s bodyguards posted at each exit, I mean sure, you could devise some kind of smart exit, but, I don’t know how you would. Maybe you use materials here like, maybe your clothes, to make a cover for the bin you choose and as you get close you kind of smother the bin’s exits as the bug tries to FLY out. and then you use that as like, you’ll deploy the bug on the guards if they get too close and don’t let you pass. But I mean, they all have guns.
tricky isn’t it?
