In Love Shore you can play as a muscular queer woman at one point flirting at a bar with your pal, and the next kicking down doors to find your gay doctor’s secret lab and help her fight the gods, all to a synthwave score. I don’t really need to say more.

I will add that I was worried by the game opening on a “fertility crisis”, not knowing the kind of game this would be. Quickly though, as I got the idea that this was more of a Children of Men set-up and that the buff cyborg, wearing knock-off sonic merch, was part of a gay-as-fuck diverse cast, any fears about where the game was going turned into joy about the eminent and ensuing queer adventures that Love Shore has to offer.

In a year starved of queer intimacy, this is a release I’m watching. Love Shore is part of Fellow Traveller’s LudoNarraCon 2021, and is expected to release on PC, Mac and Linux in October.
